El cocinero del barco, conocido como «Gabrielo», conociendo la devoción del patrón del barco por el arroz que habitualmente cocinaba, decidió preparar un día la misma receta pero sustituyendo el arroz por fideos, para intentar que «Zábalo» no acaparara tanta comida, para que pudiera llegar al resto de los marineros.
